50+ Years of Friendships

Heber and Diane Lloyd hosted a spectacular two day retreat at their mountain cabin (more like a home) outside Oakley, UT, for the five couples who have been gathering quarterly for at least 50+ years.  Gourmet food, luxurious sleeping accommodations, scenic walks, relaxation and a midnight game of Mexican train (dominos) filled every moment with nostalgia, fun, laughter, sharing of hearts and goodbyes.  There couldn't be found a better group of loyal friends!  Thanks to Heber and Diane for "rolling out the red carpet" and honoring us as we bid farewell to lifetime and eternal friends for a brief year!  We'll pick up that game of dominos when we return...

Diane with the last vestiges of her fresh peach/raspberry dessert!

We learned how to create gourmet crepes a la Johnny Kasteler in his magic pan!

A lonely mountain flower...

Could there be a more beautiful view anywhere?

  1. So wonderful! My mom taught us Mexican Train years ago, though most people don't seem to know what it is. Our family favorite is Chicken Foot!

  2. Larry is my father's brother. I no longer have a good contact information for them, but would like to let them know my mom passed away unexpectedly from a stroke on 2/3/2021. If you by chance are still in contact with them would you please ask them to reach out to me (beckie.santos@gmail.com). Thanks in advance! Beckie Doman Santos
