Goodbye, SLC |
We left SLC after intensive yet highly spiritually motivating temple missionary training sessions at the Salt Lake Temple which spanned three days, Sep 14-16, headed by Elder and Sister Richard Walker, former President and Matron. 6:30 a.m. arrived early but welcomed after a sleepless night in anticipation of what lay ahead. The Radisson hotel management couldn't have been more helpful, especially when I requested 16 family file cards be printed to complete our glorious temple sealing session later Wednesday morning. My heart was bursting with joy to experience the joy of participating in the joining of this family forever.

Leaving our three day stay at the Radisson, Thursday AM. Donned with Crown Burgers and French fries, Marty, Christy and friends joined us Wednesday night, the night before to watch the 3 1/2 hour Republican Presidential debate while sitting on the bed. Felt like we were back in college!!

WHAT A TENDER MERCY! Guess who was standing at the top of the escalator as we arrived at airport "Check Point Charlie?" Our darling Nikki, Ang's sister who is a Delta Supervisor stood there. At this point, after several sleepless nights, exhausted and concerned about juggling our multiple pieces of luggage (and other issues), and unplanned, I burst into tears, threw my arms around Nikki and hugged her! She was a tender mercy and a sign that "all is well!" She will never know... |

My last Cafe Rio Tostada (yes, breakfast at the airport) at 7:30 a.m. It never tasted so delicious!! |

Jim's mom used to refer to upper crust parts of town as the "silk stocking districts"!
