Ahh, another farewell to our beloved Cook family; however, the occasion was to attend farewell was to attend the 50th wedding anniversary outdoor party celebrating this special couples' lives, talents, hobbies and achievements through these many years. The setting was John and Carol Stahmann's Snake Hill Farm which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the US Department of the Interior. The 100 year-old farmhouse has been entirely renovated, updated in part, yet kept it's unique flavor of "days gone by" by this most talented and innovative couple. The grounds are manicured to a tee adorned by gardens, multiple shade trees, welcoming patios, flowing luxurious grass, a potting barn, shed for Grandpa Cook's antique automobile, etc. It makes a Martha Stewart design look pale in comparison.
The guests of honor were Kathy and Bob Stahmann supported by their strong and supportive children, Anne, John and Carol and Mark Stahmann, Ben and wife and children, Mark and Tatiana and Ben, Debbie and children. Also, in attendance were family members, Carole and Sam Cowley, Nicole Thomas, Julie and Carolyn Nelson, Joanne and Ed Leary and children and grandchildren, Janie Ogletree and four daughters, and other family members. Hundreds of well-wishing neighbors, friends, colleagues and church associates also joined the celebration. Find a few photos below.
This was our last stop before we checked in the Radisson Hotel to begin our mission.
