A Quick Visit to Rockefeller Square

On Monday afternoon, our "P" day, after a visit to the doctor's office, we strolled along 75th street (upper east side) in transit to the bus and observed more NYC sights which caught our eye.  Aboard the bus, we passed St. Patrick's Cathedral (largest Catholic church in the US where the Pope spoke last month) en route to Rockefeller Square, hopefully to eye the newly-arrived arrived Christmas tree, soon to be lighted.  Below view a few of our observations of our walk, the Center and surrounding stores and grounds.  Of note, even Steve is beginning to love the walking and exploring the sights of NYC and riding public transit.  It's quite an adventure.
Walking several block to catch our bus, we observed this lovely upper east side porch to an upscale apartment.

The famous The Mark hotel.

Doctors' office for the "rich and famous" near 5th Avenue.

Walked past the embassy office of Myanmar (country where Cindy and Cordell Hull served as Church missionaries).

St. Patrick's Cathedral shot out the bus window.

Another view...

Looking back toward St. Patricks with skyscraper as a backdrop.

Behind the very large drape is the Rockefeller Christmas tree, scaffolded, yet to be decorated and exposed.

Adjacent to the ice skating rink is the famous Lego Store (yes this is a Lego replica of the Center).

Another one...

And another...

Flags from numerous countries line the south side of the skating rink.
